Eggs By the Pound — 6 Comments

  1. The craziest thing I’ve ever done? In 1979, I made an appointment to get my car serviced. They said, “Drop it off in the morning; I’ll take you to work.” Knowing the mechanics, I parked and got into the blue Camaro beside me and asked if he’d take me to work. “Where do you work?” HUHUHUHU????? “Farmer’s Grain.” “Where’s that? I don’t know much about Wapak.” Again,HUHUHU?!?!?!? I was SHOCKED when the guy was NOT Paul Knueve. I found out later that Paul quit on Friday, and Chuck started on Monday. They both drove a blue Camaro. We’ll be married 39 years in April ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Oh my goodness, Karen, I’ve never heard that story. That’s so fun! I’ll bet for a split second you were embarrassed, and Charlie probably had a hey day! Did you offer to give him a tour of the town?

    • Hahaha…I don’t remember the small eggs being labeled large, but that sounds about right. I loved shopping for eggs in the market and picking out my perfect batch, but I especially enjoyed the quail eggs. Perfect in soups.

      • My bad.
I was thinking how in USA I chuckle at our crazy labels, but in China, the sizes are mixed and unlabelled.

      • ah, yes. Very true. I grew up on a farm and also worked at a egg production farm. Then I raised my own chickens until 2012. It still hurts to pay for eggs.
